Should a live band turn the music down during breaks?

The level can be adjusted so guests can talk comfortably, but dropping it too far can drain the atmosphere. For a party-focused event, break music should remain present, energetic and connected to the live show.

Do energetic breaks make the next set less exciting?

Not when the return is performed properly. It means the band must create a genuine lift through song choice, performance, lighting and audience connection instead of relying on a low-energy break.

Why avoid dead spots at an event?

Dead spots encourage guests to disengage, leave the dance floor or assume the entertainment is ending. Maintaining a consistent atmosphere helps keep the crowd connected from the beginning of the night to the end.
